Privacy Policy
At Aquozy, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA).
1. Who we are
Aquozy is an aquarium maintenance and installation service operating in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai. For the purposes of the DPDPA, we are the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described below. You can reach us at hello@aquozy.com for any privacy-related queries.
2. What information we collect
We collect only the information needed to deliver our service:
- Identity & contact — your name, mobile number, email address (if you provide one).
- Service information — your service address, area/locality, tank dimensions and notes, photos you upload to describe your tank.
- Booking history — services booked, status, dates, internal notes by our team, ratings & feedback you submit.
- Payment information — payments are made via UPI or cash directly. We record only the transaction amount and reference for our own bookkeeping; we do not store UPI credentials or banking details.
- Technical data — IP address and device information collected automatically when you visit our website (used for security and analytics only).
3. How we use your information
We use your data only for clear, stated purposes:
- To respond to and fulfil your service bookings.
- To send you booking confirmations, reminders, and service updates by email, SMS or WhatsApp.
- To accept and reconcile payments via Razorpay.
- To improve our service quality (reviewing ratings + feedback).
- To meet legal and tax obligations (invoicing, statutory record-keeping).
- To protect against fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.
We do not sell your data, ever.
4. Who we share information with
We share data only with trusted service providers strictly necessary to operate, and only the minimum required:
- Brevo — sends transactional emails on our behalf. Receives your name + email address.
- Hosting provider (GoDaddy) — stores our site and database. Bound by their own privacy commitments.
- Government / law enforcement — only when legally required (court order, statutory notice).
5. How long we keep your data
We retain your information for as long as you remain a customer plus a reasonable period thereafter for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes (typically 7 years for tax records under Indian law). After this period, we anonymise or delete the data unless retention is legally required.
6. Your rights under DPDPA
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Right to grievance redressal — raise a complaint with our Grievance Officer (see below).
- Right to nominate — designate someone to exercise your rights in case of incapacity.
- Right to withdraw consent — for any data processing based on your consent.

7. Cookies & analytics
Our website uses cookies for essential functions (session management, CSRF protection) and for analytics (Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel) to understand how visitors use our site. You can manage cookie preferences via the consent banner shown on first visit. Declining non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to use our service.
8. Security
We protect your data with reasonable technical and organisational measures: encrypted database connections, hashed passwords, secure session management, restricted admin access with role-based permissions, and regular backups. While no system is perfectly secure, we treat any breach affecting your data with urgency and will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by DPDPA.
9. Children
Our service is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us their data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated to active customers via email.
